Mic Spenceley began calling for social dances at
Ramsgate Folk Dance Club in 1975. He soon built a
reputation for a light-hearted approach to a wide
repertoire of dances of all styles; English, American,
Contras, Ceilidh, Playford etc.
Since then he has called for folk dance clubs all over
the country and at festivals in Bedworth, Broadstairs,
Bromyard, Chippenham, Eastbourne, Sidmouth and
Whitby.
He has called with many of the UK's top bands
including Asha, Climax Ceilidh Band, The Ceilidh
Chasers, Cat’s Claw, The Cock and Bull Band, The
Falconers, Fiddlin' Around, Juice, Junction 24, Blue
Mountain, Wild Thyme, Peeping Tom, Portland Drive,
Weston Country Dance Band, English Mustard,
Dargason, Alterations, Cat's Whiskers, 3D, Ring O'
Bells.
Mic plays double bass and has played with The
Falconers, Smith Square, The Rigadoons, The
Ranchers, Ring O' Bells and the Dave Brown Band. He
is based in South Wales where he also plays with the
community band "Thingumijigs" at Llantwit Major.
